16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM AT SCHOOLS AND FACULTIES

Promotions of the publication ''Gender Stereotypes: Sounds Familiar?'' were organised at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo and Faculties of Philosophy in Tuzla and Zenica. This very book represents a collection of essays dealing with diverse gender stereotypes. On that occasion the performance ''Cut'' was conducted by the actresses from the Academy of Performing Arts Sarajevo which portrays faithfully all faces and facets of gender based violence and stereotypes born out of it.

Workshops ''What Are You Waiting For?'' were organised in cooperation with seven primary and secondary schools (Gymnasium Živinice, Živinice, Mixed Secondary School Srebrenik, Srebrenik, Primary School Podlugovi, Podlugovi, Primary School Novi Šeher, Novi Šeher, The First Bosniak Gymnasium, Sarajevo, International High School, Sarajevo and Secondary Medical School Jezero, Sarajevo) where students were familiarized with the fundamental characteristics of various forms of gender based violence, what to do in case of violence, i.e. how to cease silence and waiting and to whom approach.
Students had an opportunity to take part in various ways of participatory work and learning as well as the methodology of work based on use of psycho drama.
The campaign was crowned with the commemoration of International Human Rights Day, i.e. exhibition of the best comics from the competition ''Comic Up the Violence'' and promotion of the second edition of ''Nira'' comic book and collection of stories ''Nira's Challenges''. On that occasion more than a hundred present students together with their teachers sent the message to the public: ''Let us end this silence and report violence because it matters!''.
